Tinie Zacher is a frequent collaborator in music theater oder cabaret productions. In the past summers at the festival in Bad Gandersheim they worked together on "Die Fledermaus" (where she played Adele) and "The Rocky Horror Show" (Columbia) and "Orpheus in the Underworld (Eurydike). At the close of the 2006 season she was awarded the 'Roswitha-Ring', a prize awarded to outstanding actress, chosen thru ballots cast by the audience in the course of the summer.
In "La cage aux folles" she was a delightfully hysterical Madame Dindon) and in "Mozart in Manhattan" she - as Maria Malibran - joined poet Lorenzo Da Ponte in solving the whodunnit of "how Mozart really died" who lived in New York City for many years following his collaboration with Mozart.
This new chamber opera received a lot of attention in the press. The "Northeimer Neueste Nachrichten" wrote: "Mozart in Manhattan" tells the story of Lorenzo daPonte, Mozart's opera librettist. Following stupendous success in Vienna, political upheavals and the death of Mozart, DaPonte ended up stranded in New York. Here he is visited by a certain Maria, who reignites his memory of the work together with Mozart and spurns him on to introduce opera by the master composer to New York.
... "the production was delightful, due in large part to the voice and dramatic talent of Christin Zacher. She won the hearts of the full house of 100 with her playful and quirky Maria."
In 2004, Christin played the role of Papagena in the Gandersheim "Zauberflöte" production. (The picture here shows the beginning of her duet with Papageno in the middle of the Act 2 finale.)
During her engagement as Fantine at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken in 2002/2003, we presented a musical revue entitled "Inspired by Gershwin". (Photo below)
Tinie Zacher's repertoire includes classic songs made popular by Marlene Dietrich, Edith Piaf, Fats Waller and Judy Garland...as well as modern Broadway tunes and contemporary pop ballads.
She has appeared at Theater des Westens Berlin, Deutsches Theater München, the Hansa Theater Berlin and the summer festival in Schwäbisch Hall, where she covered the role of "Roxanne" in the musical Cyrano.
She was a soloist at the concert "From Alexanderplatz to Broadway" presented in the Konzerthaus Dortmund by the Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg in May 2004. She was also featured with spanish songs by Xavier Montsalvatge in the "Latin Classix" orchestra program at the Philharmonie München in November 2003.
A selection of fifteen favorite songs was released in 2005 on a cd titled "Sehnsucht" -- "Yearning".
